Stardate 62037.83 - Vacation, Day Two

Saturday morning there was a nice sunrise I witnessed before Cheryl and Loren got up for the day. That morning we did more provisioning after a hearty breakfast at Maggie Malone's (I know we just ate there Friday, but there were not a lot of options at the American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook, St. Thomas). Capt Dave of Fairwinds came by to make sure our water and fuel were filled up, and Thomas and Wei arrived around 1:15 PM. After our check-out with Capt Dave, we were underway and off to our first stop-over: Leinster Bay, St. John.

The weather north of the VIs was pretty rough, and we had some medium-sized swells to traverse on our way to Leinster Bay. It was a little too much for Loren, who got sick on the way over from St. Thomas. At this point we were a little worried, because we thought we had another 6 days like this (as it turns out, we only had 2 rough days and then we had extremely light winds for the rest of the trip). But Loren hung in there and was much improved once we picked up our first mooring ball of the trip in the bay off of St. John.

Because we got to Leinster Bay fairly late in the afternoon, we did not go ashore that evening.

It's a vacation, what are you doing getting up that early. At least Cheryl and Loren had the right idea. Sleep in!
